Alternative longer routes can take up to three days and include staying in DoC huts . Getting to the park is easy, with good quality roads surrounded by stunning scenery to enjoy along the way. Whakapapa Village is located right in the action, only 8 minutes from the ski area. It is also conveniently located from the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, which is just 35 minutes away.
